At zOrder, we are looking for a passionate Software Tester who can jump straight into the execution phase with minimal hand-holding. If you are ready to take high ownership of application quality from Day 1, we want you on our team!
📌 Job Overview & Key Responsibilities
Independent Execution: Quickly grasp software features, business logic, and user workflows with minimal supervision.
Test Case Creation: Write detailed, structured, and logical test cases from day one based on requirement docs or application walkthroughs.
Thorough Testing: Execute end-to-end manual testing, including UI, functional, regression, boundary values, and negative testing across web/desktop applications and APIs.
Clear Bug Reporting: Identify, isolate, and log bugs in a structured format (with precise steps, screenshots, and expected vs. actual results).
Data Verification: Query backend databases to ensure data entered from the frontend is correctly reflected.
Developer Collaboration: Work directly with the development team to explain logged issues and verify hotfixes quickly.
🛠 Required Skills & Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Technical Skills:
Testing Fundamentals: Solid command over STLC, Black Box testing, Regression testing, and Boundary Value Analysis.
SQL Knowledge: Ability to write and execute SQL queries (SELECT, WHERE, JOINs, GROUP BY) for database verification.
Web & API Basics: Basic understanding of web applications (Chrome DevTools) and familiarity with API testing (Postman) is highly preferred.
Bug Tracking: Prior hands-on experience or complete familiarity with tools like Jira.
Core Competencies & Education:
High Ownership & Analytical Thinking: Ability to think of edge cases, negative scenarios, and break-points without needing constant monitoring.
Sharp Communication: Clean documentation skills so developers can understand and fix bugs without back-and-forth loops.
Education: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / BCA or equivalent technical degree.
Note: Completion of a comprehensive Software Testing certification/course (ISTQB, manual testing diploma, etc.) is highly preferred so you are productive from Day 1.
