"Tell me about yourself"- is not a casual question.
It's the most important 90 seconds of your interview.

Most freshers answer it like this:
"I'm from Chennai. I completed my B.Tech in CSE. I like coding and playing cricket."
❌That's not an interview answer.

What the interviewer is really asking is: "Why should we hire you?"

A simple structure that works:
👉 Present → "I'm a final-year CSE student with a focus on backend development."
👉 Past → "Over the past 2 years, I've built 4 projects, one of which was deployed and used by 300+ students in my college."
👉 Future → "I'm looking to join a product team where I can contribute from day one and grow into a strong backend engineer."

60–90 seconds. Crisp. Confident. Specific.
